Miller Dwan Foundation Receives $5,000 Grant for Renovations
The Miller-Dwan Foundation received a $5,000 grant to renovate the adult inpatient mental health unit in the Miller-Dwan Building.
The grant came from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
The renovations will include an exercise room, a spiritual center, flexible spaces for yoga, meditation and other activities, as well as a resource center and family areas.
“We are so grateful for the support of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community” said Traci Marciniak, Foundation President, “Due to the limited availability of behavioral health care throughout the state, our Duluth-based inpatient unit cares for patients from all over Minnesota. We are thankful that the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux recognize and support the broad reach our unit has in caring for patients when they need it most”.
