NorShor Theatre Project Passes Through DEDA
City Council Approval Is Final Step Before Construction
A $30.5 million plan for the restoration of the NorShor Theatre was approved 5-0 by DEDA Wednesday.
The project has been a long time coming, but officials say it was for very good reason.
“It takes a long time when you’re looking at the new market tax credits and historic tax credits. So, really excited to be at that stage tonight,” said Elissa Hansen, finance committee chairperson.
The Duluth City Council will now consider the plan this Monday, and construction will commence immediately after April — if approved.
Construction will take 18 to 20 months.
There is a hard deadline for the project to be finalized no later than December 2017.
