Person of Interest in Wetterling Abduction wants Child Porn Trial Moved

A man who authorities have called a person in the 1989 abduction of Jacob Wetterling wants his trial on unrelated child porn charges moved.

Attorneys representing 53-year-old Danny Heinrich have asked a federal judge this week to move Heinrich’s child pornography trial from Minneapolis.

According to the St. Cloud Times, Heinrich’s attorneys also asked that evidence gathered during a search of his Annandale home be suppressed along with anything he told investigators last year.

Heinrich has pleaded not guilty to the child pornography charges and is scheduled to go to trial in July.

Authorities say they found the images while investigating the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling, who was 11 when he was kidnapped.  Heinrich has not been charged in Jacob’s unsolved abduction and has denied any involvement.
