Extra Law Enforcement On MN Roads To Stop Distracted Driving
300 Law Enforcement Agencies State Wide Are Participating
Each day in the United States, over 8 people are killed and more than 1,000 are injured in crashes that are reported to involve a distracted driver.
Distracted driving can be anything from texting while driving, to eating while on the road, and while some distractions are not technically illegal, law enforcement says it’s important to be safe and aware.
The Duluth Police Department will conduct overtime patrols on Minnesota roads in an effort to reduce the number of distracted drivers.
More than 300 Law enforcement agencies across the state of Minnesota are participating in the extra enforcement.
The distracted driving campaign runs through April 11th through the 17th, and is coordinated by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of traffic Safety.
