Knowing Your Neighbors: Apricot Lane

Apricot Lane is the route many take to looking good.

After working in retail for years, one Duluth woman has stepped out on her own to operate a women’s boutique.

Apricot Lane is the route many take to looking good.

To say Wendy Myers lives out her dream everyday at her shop Apricot Lane in Duluth isn’t an understatement.

“To do this and to do it everyday, it’s like coming tow work in my own closet. I mean what girl doesn’t dream of that,” said Myers.

Wendy’s worked in retail for years, but never on her own.

“I like being my own buyer,” said Myers.

Now owning a franchise of Apricot Lane lets her pick all the clothes for her closet and those of her customers.

“You get the help of a corporate office but the freedom to do what you want. It’s kind of the best of both worlds,” said Myers.

She loves everything about the store since opening it four years ago.

“What most people don’t know is we are all individually owned and operated so we carry all our own unique merchandise,” said Myers.

“We don’t necessarily carry the same thing, but we might,” said Myers.

Apricot Lane gets in new inventory all the time because they only carry around four to six pieces of a particular item.

“If you’re not completely in love with it, I’ll be shocked because most people are,” said Myers.

The best fit Myers carries is the relationship she creates with each of her customers.

“I treat them as a friend,” said Myers.

Dreams come true at Apricot Lane each and every day, many just need to follow the path to get there.

“When you come to Apricot Lane, you’re going to find unique and special merchandise that you’re not going to find anywhere else,” said Myers.

Customers can journey on over to Apricot Lane Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and they’re closed on Sundays.

Apricot Lane has an online store and many follow them on other social media channels.
