Democrat Salamone Enters Race for Wisconsin Congressional Seat

Phil Salamone is a 39-Year Resident of the Badger State

Wisconsin’s Seventh District Congressman has a new challenger for his seat.

Democrat Phil Salamone, of Marathon County, stopped in Superior Thursday to announce his bid for Congressman Sean Duffy’s seat.

He says he will focus on issues concerning working families like social security, affordable higher education and extending broadband coverage to rural areas.

Salamone has lived in Wisconsin for 39 years and is currently an adjunct faculty member of a local college near Wausau.

He is also a farm mediator for the Department of Agriculture and does volunteer work.

“Incumbent Congressman Sean Duffy has not just consistently opposed all progressive legislation,” Salamone said. “But he has been an active player in an inactive congress. A do nothing congress.”

Salamone was highly critical of what he calls “special interest” groups financing Duffy’s campaign.

According to Salamone, “It may be legal, but it doesn’t pass the smell test for me.”

Phil is married to his wife Carla, has four adult children and three grandchildren.
