Learning doesn’t always happen in just the classroom. For some students, it happens with just the click of a mouse.

Minnesota Connections Academy is a tuition free, online public school that serves students in kindergarten through the twelfth grade.

Many students who are or have been home schooled or those who need more personalized attention have utilized the school.

Classes teach not only the ABC’s but offer valuable, real world experience.

“In online education, they’re able to get used to that technology piece. Our world is becoming so technology based. We’ve got so many different apps, we’ve got smart phones. Computers are doing a lot of work, and so their experience online and being able to work with the computer, and learn all of the different parts of the computers,” said Minnesota Connections Academy special education teacher Brandi Curran.

There are nearly 2,000 students enrolled in the academy.
