Prince Tributes Continue

Music lovers remember him not only for his showmanship but musicianship.

Tributes from around Minnesota and the world have come in waves of purple rain.

In just the last few years, Prince opened the door to the little red corvette and let people see more of his personal side, but wanted the focus to remain on the music.

There are reports coming out that Prince has tons of unreleased music kept at his Paisley Park studio.

However, fans have eagerly grabbed up the classics. One record store in Superior sold out of Prince albums as news of his death spread.

But as Prince gained fame in the music video era, it’s important not to forget the once in a generation artist many have called him.

“I think people often forget that if you take away, strip away all of the image and all the lights and all the color, what you had underneath that was a talented, talented musician,” said Chris Harwood, KUMD host.

Even though Prince made it to the ranks of music royalty, he always remained Minnesota’s Prince.

There are also a host of musicians who played their own covers of Prince songs that are popping up all over online.

Tributes to Prince will continue in Minneapolis and in the Northland.

There will be screenings of Purple Rain at the Mall of America to here at Marcus Cinema Duluth.
