Grand Rapids Man Charged with Damaging Cars at Dealership

A Grand Rapids man has been charged after allegedly causing $25,000 in damages to cars at a dealership. 

62-year-old Geary Menard is charged with felony First Degree Criminal Damage to Property. 

The charges stem from allegations that Menard allegedly damaged 12 vehicles at a Grand Rapids car dealership on April 16, causing $25,000 in damages. 

Menard was identified through surveillance video and photos obtained through the dealership.  He allegedly admitted to police that he scratched  the paint on several vehicles with either a comb or keys.  

Menard told police he was under the influence of alcohol at the time.  

On Tuesday, Menard was released from jail with the following conditions- no use or possession of drugs or alcohol, no contact with the Grand Rapids GM car dealership, remain law abiding and make all future court appearances. 

Menard will appear in court again on May 2.
