Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Duluth Home Invasion

A Duluth man will spend the next 20 years behind bars for his role in an armed home invasion in Rice Lake Township in June of 2015.

25-year-old Guy Rabold pleaded guilty in February to charges of First Degree Aggravated Robbery, First Degree Burglary, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

Rabold and an accomplice, John Sorenson, entered a home on June 5, 2015 in Rice Lake Township wearing masks and brandishing handguns.   Police say the two held the homeowners at gunpoint.   They were caught by police after the victims were able to call for help.

A two day court trial was held on February 1 and 2 to determine if Rabold was a dangerous offender, making him eligible for an increased sentence of up to 240 months.

Sorenson was sentenced last September to 14 years in prison for his role in the home invasion.
