Veterans Fly to Washington D.C. To Visit War Memorials
Trip Organized By Local Non-Profit
80 veterans traveled to Washington DC to visit memorials, and to remember lives lost in the wars.
The trip was organized by Honor Flight Northland, a non-profit organization that honors veterans living in Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin.
The program is for Veterans of World War 2, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, with priority given to World War 2 vets.
The group of 162 veterans, paramedics and volunteers will spend the day in Washington visiting memorials, and touring the city.
It’s an emotional, busy, and important day for the veterans who left the Northland at the crack of dawn, and are coming home late at night.
For organizers it’s another way to honor the heroes who bravely served the country.
The program is funded by donations. To donate visit: http://www.honorflightnorthland.org/Donations.shtml
