Local Projects Included in Democrats’ Bonding Proposal

Minnesota Senate Democrats announced a plan Wednesday for their bonding proposal. 

The proposal includes funding for several projects here in the Northland including:

-$27.1 million for a new Health and Sciences Education Facility at UMD

-$1 Million for Glensheen

-$500,000 for Hibbing Community College Campus Reconfiguration

-$6.9 million for Itasca County State Park Renovations

-$1.6 Million St Louis & Lake Counties Regional Railroad Authority-Mesabi Trail

-$763,000 Two Harbors Small Crafter Harbor Facility

-$12.7 Million St. Louis River Area of Concern

-$5.9 Million to the Duluth Airport Authority for runway Reconstruction

-$750,000 for Grand Rapids Mississippi River Pedestrian Bridge

-$3 Million International Falls Airport

-$3.4 Million for Highway 53 Relocation in Virginia

-$1.9 million for the lake Superior Zoo 

-$8 Million Hermantown-Arrowhead Regional Wellness Center

-$600,000 Moose Lake- Riverside Center

-$12.9 Million St. Louis County-Arrowhead Economic Development Center & Mental Health Facility

-$1.7 million Silver Bay-Black Beach Municipal Campground

-$4 Million Virginia-Miner’s Memorial Community Center

-$8.1 Million WLSSD Combined Heat & Power System
