Personal Historian Talks Documenting Life Stories

Personal History Awareness Month

May is personal history awareness month.

This morning, a personal historian visited FOX 21 Sunrise to talk about its importance.

Mary Beth Frost with the Association of Personal Historians says, “I think everyone can relate to this. That they wish they had some form of documentation from their grandparents. I hear over and over people say ‘I wish I had asked more questions.'”

Frost continued, “What I run across often is people say ‘Oh my story isn’t significant’ and what I tell them is everyone has a story to tell and it is significant to others.”

A Show & Tell event is being held at the Douglas County Historical Society on Thursday, May 19 from 6-7:30 p.m.

These events give adults a chance to share and listen to interesting stories and connect with others.
