Two Harbors Hosts Mock Crash
State Patrol and Two Harbors agencies create scene for a lasting impact.
Two Harbors High School raised awareness about distracted driving. Students experienced a mock crash between a distracted driver and a school bus.
The Minnesota State Patrol and several Two Harbors agencies worked to make this as real as possible for a lasting impact.
“I wanted to help people realize that it could happen to anyone even if you’re not the one driving, you can still get hurt and even though it’s not real, it’s real hard to see my friends like that,” said Katlynne Holbeck who played a mock crash victim.
The Minnesota State Patrol is urging drivers to put the phone down to help bring the number of distracted driving deaths down to zero.
“We’re just trying to take little chunks out of it, save one life at a time. If doing a presentation here with six or seven hundred people can save a life, absolutely it’s worth it,” said Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Jason Hanson.
