Port Cities ‘Woman of the Year’ Named

Winner outstanding volunteer from Port Cities Area

At the 91st Annual Port Cities Luncheon, the 2016 ‘Woman of the Year’ was named Wednesday.

The winner had to be an outstanding volunteer from the Port Cities area, and June Kreutzkampf took the title this year.

She is involved at St. Luke’s hospital, and has been a member of the University For Seniors.

Kreutzkampf is also part of the Duluth’s Women’s Club.

Don Ness was the guest speaker Wednesday, and the theme of the luncheon was family, faith and community.

“It’s a way of honoring our women in the community that have done hundreds of hours of volunteer work,” said chairperson Judy Rogers.

The woman of the year award was first given out in 1948.
