Tackle Shops Prepare for Wisconsin Fishing Opener
Anglers are stocking up on last minute supplies before May 7th opener.
Many anglers in Wisconsin are looking to reel in the big one on May 7th.
The day before the fishing opener has many hooked on going to local bait and tackle shops to get those last minute supplies.
The Superior Fly Angler says the day before the opener is usually busy with many stocking up on flies, wading shoes, and rods.
“The opener is like Christmas for all of us fisherman. Everybody’s excited and ready to see this. We wait for it all winter and now it’s here. Tomorrow is the big day and everybody’s excited to get out and get fishing,” said John Nowicki of the Superior Fly Angler.
Many of those getting gear were looking to catch trout. The bass and muskie seasons come in the weeks ahead.
