Many people bowl to fight breast cancer

The fourth annual Bowling for Breast Cancer Fundraiser was held at Landmark Lanes in Superior today.

Circle of Hope is a non–profit organization that helps those in poverty and financial distress due to their breast cancer diagnosis.

The organization pays bills for Northland breast cancer patients.

They get the money from designated fundraisers, like the one at Landmark Lanes.

They gave away over ten prizes to the bowlers and free pinks drinks were given out if you got a strike.

Items paid by the organization consist of rent, utilities, food and gas cards.

Peggy Anderson, a Circle of Hope employee, said “There is a never ending need for help for these patients and Circle of Hope has paid out over $180,000 to help breast cancer patients in northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin.”

Last year, close to $5,000 was raised by Landmark Lanes to help the people of the northland.
