Expect Travel Delays in Duluth Monday
Three Major Construction Projects Will Begin
Expect travel delays in Duluth Monday, as three construction projects on the roads will be underway.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says there will be lane closures as crews complete the construction projects on the Bong Bridge.
Eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed at the arch. All work on the Bong Bridge is expected to be completed by the end of May.
Meanwhile, a routine ramp inspection will also be taking place at the ‘Can of Worms’ interchange Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., requiring lane closures in that area.
The ramp from southbound Highway 53 to southbound I-35 will be closed. The ramp from southbound Highway 53 to I-535 Blatnik Bridge will be reduced to a single lane. Signs will be posted to direct motorists to alternate routes.
Crews will also be working to resurface parts of I-35, traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction between 5th Avenue West and London Road.
Later this week, they’ll also be working on Mesaba Avenue. The I-35 projects are expected to be completed by mid-July.
