Fire safety tips in the Northland
With the wildfires blazing near Hoyt Lakes, many people want to know how they can be safe and protected from fires.
Authorities say there are many ways you can prevent wildfires.
All fires must be controlled within a three foot by three foot restriction, the restriction must be approved, it must be 25 feet from a structure with a water source nearby.
Chris Martinson, the Assistant Fire Chief, said “Typically after something bad happens or whatever tragedy is new in the news is when things get talked about and that’s when things get remedied.”
Unlike many natural disasters, most wildfires are caused by people and can be prevented by people as well.
