Minnesota Fishing Season Begins

The Season Lasts Until February 26th

Fishing is part of the culture of the Northland, and with the beginning of the fishing season, Anglers can be seen flocking to the lakes

Many Minnesotans take advantage of the land of 10,000 lakes.

According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the state is first nationally in the sales of fishing licenses per capita, so the first day of the fishing season is something many people look forward to.

Families, friends, and even solo anglers could be seen casting their lines in hopes of reeling in a big prize

The temperatures, at around 40 degrees all day, was less than ideal, but it didn’t stop the outdoorswomen and men from pursuing the sport they love.

The 2016 Fishing season ends February 26th of next year.
