Concerts on the Pier Start on Wednesdays in July
Glensheen to Start Concerts on the Pier
On July 6th, Glensheen will kick off Concerts on the Pier, a free outdoor summer concert series on the shores of Lake Superior, with local band Glitteratti featuring members of Trampled by Turtles.
Free outdoor summer concerts have been happening at Glensheen every Wednesday night in July for many years.
However, last year marked the first time all of the bands played on the 100-foot pier extending into Lake Superior.
Each of the bands have Duluth ties with a statewide and national reach making the series a showcase of Minnesota music and directly relevant to Glensheen’s new mission statement, “To inspire Minnesota pride by preserving and sharing the legacy of Glensheen and to serve as an incubator for positive change.”
Glensheen’s Pier is the best outdoor concert venue in the Northland with it’s unique ‘on-the-water’ feel.
Concertgoers line Glensheen’s Lake Superior shoreline while kayakers and boaters enjoy the free music on the water.
Concerts on the Pier is a celebration of the Lake, local music, one of Duluth’s historic locations and Minnesota culture.
