Sidewalk Shuffle Raises Money for Duluth YMCA

The 5K Run and Walk is the YMCA's signature fundraiser.

If people  weren’t running to get the deals at the sidewalk sales in downtown Duluth, they shuffled around for a great time and to support a good cause.

Runners and walkers took to the streets of Duluth for the ninth annual Sidewalk Shuffle 5K Run and Walk.

The event is the signature fundraiser for the scholarship campaign for the Duluth YMCA.

“We have a motto that we never turn anyone away due to the inability to pay and because of events like this. We get to keep providing those scholarships for the community,” said Tara Sieve, health and wellness director for the YMCA.

Many area businesses formed teams of runners for the shuffle.
