Man Charged with Witness Tampering in Grand Rapids Beheading Case

Brother of Kayleene Greniger has been charged in David Haiman case

On July 18, Itasca County Attorney, John J. Muhar reports a complain was filed in Itasca County District Court charging Joeseph Greniger, 20, of Grand Rapids, with one Count of felony First Degree Witness Tampering.

Greniger is the brother of Kayleene Greniger, who is currently charged with Accomplice After the Fact to Second Degree Murder in the death of David Haiman, who was found beheaded in Ball Club in June.

The charge against Greniger stems from three communications he placed to a witness, whose name has not been released, in the pending homicide case. The communications threatened personal harm to the witness for snitching on Kayleene Greniger.

Greniger is currently on felony probation in Itasca County in an unrelated matter on the offense of First Degree Burglary.

At his first appearance in court on the First Degree Witness Tampering charge, the court set bail in the amount of $50,000 without conditions or $25,000 with conditions to cover both the new charge and the probation file.

Terms of Greniger’s conditional bail include the following: no contact with witness, drug and alcohol restrictions with spot checks, abide by the terms of his probation and remain law abiding.
