People Look to Escape the Extreme Heat
Crowds Fill The Beach to Escape the Heat
It is extremely hot out and temperatures are expected to get even hotter in northern Minnesota over the next couple of days.
People have come from far and wide places of northern Minnesota and Wisconsin to cool off in a man made beach in Cloquet.
Lifeguards tell us they have seen hundreds come through in the last few days.
Many of these people are moms with young children who say it is just too hot to do anything else.
Nicole Scharte, a Mother of three boys, said “We are not used to this, we aren’t conditioned for this so this is a great way to come out and beat that.”
The Beach in Cloquet offers water slides, sand beaches and more.
The thing many parents love most about it is a big group of lifeguards watching over everyone at all times.
Paul Vogt, the Lifeguard Supervisor, said “This is a lot like a lake but at the same time you have supervision lifeguards provide.”
The Beach is open daily from 11am–7pm and admission is $3.50 per person.
