Power outages are leading to booming business

Some local businesses are seeing a rise in customers due to power outages across the city.

Places like Perk Place Coffeehouse and Bakery are seeing many people coming in searching for a place to cool down and find power to charge phones and other electronics.

Perk Place’s manager, Ria Takhar, says, “In about half out day, we’ve done about four days worth of business. It’s been pretty crazy!”

Perk Place was without power for most of the day, Thursday, but has been up and running since power returned.
