Lake Country Power Brings in Specialized Gear
Heavy equipment to help replace utlity poles
Lake Country Power has already called in additional crews, and now have brought in specialized heavy equipment to replace more than 200 utility poles damaged by Thursday’s storms.
Nearly 27,000 outages were reported after the storm. The rural electric cooperative reports the number of outages has dropped to 3,000 consumers without power this morning.
Field crews have been clearing and replacing sections of line up to a mile long through state, county, and federal forest lands.
Specialized heavy equipment, equipped with tracks, booms and saws, are being used to clear downed trees and broken poles. Thousands of trees were uprooted or snapped off throughout the co-op’s 10,800 square mile service territory after winds upwards of 100 mph were reported.
