Many People in Duluth are Still Without Power
After Six Days, Many People in Duluth are Still Without Power
Days after the storm hit, there are still several places around the Northland where people do not have power.
Several neighborhoods on the north side of Duluth remain in the dark and some will likely not have their power restored until at least Thursday.
Elaine Laumeyer and her husband have been without power for six days and now, they wait patiently for power to be restored.
Laumeyer said, “The first day you’re okay, but now it is just old so we are hoping it would be sooner because we don’t have a generator, it’s just long.”
Many people have had to throw out food and other items that have been affected.
A lot of these residents have been through storms before but living without power for so long is a first time experience for most.
Laumeyer said, “This is worse because there’s so much debris. The ice storm everything fell over but we were not without power like we have been.”
Neighbors remain hopeful that the power will be turned back on before the estimated date of Thursday.
