Sislo Excited to Join Colorado Organization
Superior Native Joined Avalanche After Five Seasons with New Jersey
Superior native Mike Sislo signed a one year, two–way contract with the Colorado Avalanche July 1st, the first day of the National Hockey League’s free agent signing period.
Sislo joins the Avalanche after five years in New Jersey’s system. He even played in 42 NHL games with the Devils over the last three seasons.
Because he signed a two–way deal, Colorado can send Sislo to the American Hockey League, but Sislo looks to make an impression, and earn a spot with the big club.
“To go somewhere else and get a little bit of a change is refreshing,” said Sislo. “I’m excited from everything I’ve heard, and from the talks I’ve had, I’m excited to be a part of Colorado’s organization. I’m getting ramped up, hoping to compete this fall and earn a spot.”
