Duluth Tells Residents to Dial 211 for Storm Questions

The referral service will guide residents to the help they need in the aftermath of the storm.

In addition to those debris drop-off sites, Duluth wants its residents to know of a special number to call for any storm related questions.

The number to dial is 211, which is with the Head of the Lakes United Way. It is a referral services that will connect those who need assistance with service providers.

Many residents have asked the city when all the debris will be cleared and picked up. Crews have been working hard and have been pulled from other projects to focus on storm cleanup.

The city urges its residents to have debris to be piled up as neatly as possible and you can call 211 with any questions.

City leaders want residents to continue what they’ve done already and that has been watching out for one another.

“I want to urge everyone in our community to please keep in mind the challenges that so many of our neighbors are going through and to please look for ways you can help through the organized volunteer efforts,” said city councilor Joel Sipress.

Many agencies like CHUM, the Salvation Army, and the Red Cross have encouraged people to donate food and household items.

The city’s volunteer coordinator will soon be looking for volunteers to help with the cleanup of city parks.
