Male Arrested on Firearm and Drug Charges

Another arrest on Duluth city streets

The Duluth Police Department reported on their Facebook page that late Tuesday morning officers and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force made an arrest on the 2200 West block of 3rd Street.

Officers obtained a search warrant to search a 44-year-old male and his vehicle as part of an ongoing investigation. Investigators located the male, who saw them approaching and entered a vehicle with two other males.

The individual quickly exited the vehicle, discarded his backpack, and attempted to flee. Investigators apprehended the man and searched the backpack and located a firearm as well as crack cocaine on his person. 

The male was arrested and take to jail pending charges for felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
