Wisconsin Girls in Slender Man Attack to be Tried as Adults

Back in 2014, two Wisconsin girls were accused of trying to kill their friend as a sacrifice to the fictional horror character, Slender Man.

Authorities say the girls, who were 12 at the time, lured their classmate into the woods in Waukesha after a birthday sleepover and repeatedly stabbed her.

The victim was found along the road, bleeding from wounds that nearly killed her.

A Wisconsin state appeals court has ruled that the two girls should be tried as adults. The 2nd District Appeals court on Wednesday affirmed a lower court’s determination that it was reasonable to try both girls as adults. The girls could appeal the rulings to the state Supreme Court.

The Associated Press has not identified the defendants because their case could move to juvenile court, where proceedings are closed.
