The City of Superior Announces a New Domestic Violence Policy
New Domestic Violence Policy
After months of work, proposals, and feedback the City of Superior has come up with a new policy to combat domestic violence.
They paired up with the City of Duluth and received a grant from Duluth’s Domestic Abuse Intervention Project.
Officials hope that the new policy will bring change to the area.
Dan Blank, the District Attorney, said “I think that the main thing will be the accountability to the prosecutors office to follow structured plan to use key factors to decide when to focus on punishment and when to focus on treatment or both.”
The goal of the new policy is to have a new level of intervention among all court judges and prosecutors, work harder for victim safety and provide more offender accountability.
The policy is being adopted now and will be implemented in August.
