Volunteer Teams Arrive to Aid Duluth

2-1-1 resources for residents in need

Volunteers with the Christian Aid Ministries Rapid Response Team arrived in Duluth, in less than 24 hours of Mayor Emily Larson, City Councilors and emergency response community partners publicizing the Head of the Lakes United Way 2-1-1 resource for residents in need following the July 21 storm.

Christian Aid Ministries teams are helping out residents to clear debris from their yards and prepare it for city crews to pick-up. These crews have experience in construction work, appropriate equipment, and experience responding quickly to calls for help.

The team that arrived in Duluth traveled from Wisconsin with a goal of clearing out as many yards as they can today before returning home.

If you or someone you know still needs help, call 2-1-1 or toll free at 800-543-7709.

As of Wednesday night there were 30 requests. The City is also seeking volunteers to help with yard work and with city parks. If interested call the City at 218-730-4334 to register.
