Medical Marijuana Update
Patients with serious pain can now use medical marijuana
Nearly 500 patients that suffer from intractable pain have registered to buy medical marijuana starting Monday. State law defines intractable pain as pain that can’t be treated with other methods.
Minnesota residents with serious conditions have been purchasing medical marijuana for more than a year now.
Monday begins a new chapter for Minnesota’s medical marijuana program with patients with serious pain now being able to use it too.
The Associated Press reports that on Friday, State health officials said that 481 pain patients had pre-registered through their doctors.
The expansion to include pain patients has been in the works since Minnesota legalized medical marijuana in 2014.
