New MN Law Effects Intractable Pain Patients
State Registration Now Open
Medical marijuana registration is now open for pain patients in the state of Minnesota.
Patients with a number of serious conditions had previously been eligible for medical marijuana.
Now, patients determined to have intractable pain will also be able to purchase the medical marijuana.
One patient says the guidelines have given her hope. At age 70 she has inflammation of the spine which causes severe pain.
Previously she had been taking opioids to control the pain, but it wasn’t working well.
“I’ve waited a long time, the quality of life that I could have, the promise of that is overwhelming,” said Judy Severson. “I want to travel, I want to interact with my friends. My husband deserves a better wife than he has right now.”
Minnesota medical solutions has estimated their locations will serve between thirty and forty new patients Monday.
