Business is Back to Normal in Hayward after Flooding

Severe storms impacted the area weeks ago. Local leaders say they're open for business.

After many storms and flooding in the Hayward area a few weeks ago, business leaders say business is back to normal.

Even though traffic was diverted because of some washed out roads in the area, the community fared well according to local leaders.

For a community that relies heavily on tourists for their economy, they wanted to get the word out that summer fun can still be had in town.

“We love our visitors. We want to make sure that folks are aware that Hayward we’re very much open for business and all the recreational opportunities still exist,” said Chris Ruckdaschel, Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce Director.

Despite the storms weeks ago, Hayward saw many tourists come to town for the Lumberjack World Championships last weekend.
