The DECC Celebrates 50 Years

Hundreds Come Out to Celebrate the DECC

There was a celebration happening down at the DECC today, and this time, it was the DECC itself that was the main attraction.

The doors of the complex opened up in 1966, and it has seen 50 years worth of sports and entertainment.

Today, the DECC held an open house, and invited the public to come and enjoy the history of the iconic duluth venue.

Sue Ellen Moore, the Director of Sales, said “We are having so much fun, and so grateful to the community who has helped us have 50 eventful years here.”

The celebration included an employee reunion, and even an Elvis tribute act.

Elvis played the arena two times during his career, just one of the many highlights the DECC has seen over the years.
