Officials Host a Landlord Workshop

Tenants and Landlords Come to Learn About Duluth Housing

The Tenant Landlord Connection, a program of One Roof Community Housing, is presenting a series of free workshops to help area landlords.

Officials hope that this will help area landlords better understand the complex laws that local, state and federal agencies have in place to govern the rental process.

Today the theme of the meeting was understanding the crime free ordinance and the newly implemented three strike rule that allows landlords to kick tenants out if they get three strikes.

Jackie KEmp, the Education Director at One Roof, said “When the ordinance was made years ago, there was a reason for it and it’s a renting town so there is a high percentage of folks that are renting in our community so rental topics become important.”

There are two more meetings left. One on August 23rd and the other on September 7th.
