UW System Requests $42.5 Million From State
Request For More Funding For School Year
The request comes after the state cut 250 million dollars last year from the university system as well as maintaining tuition freeze for the past 4 years and with now enrollment number on the rise, University officials say something got to give.
UWS Director of Communications Daniel Fanning explains, “If your revenue stays flat and you’re seeing some cuts in other places, you either have to cut or you have to find additional revenue. We’ve done both.”
The University system his hoping to have reached an agreement with the state before a final budget meeting in October.
