Superior Police Seen on Roof of Dunkin Donuts

On the Roof For a Good Cause

Police were seen on the roof of a Dunkin Donuts in Superior this morning, but the reason may surprise you.

Officers from the Superior Police Department and deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office have teamed up to support the Special Olympics.

All morning they collected monetary donations from customers.

And from the sound of things they had quite a bit of success for their effort.

“We’ve had a lot of people coming in,” said Lieutenant John Kiel, with the Superior Police Dept. “A lot of people coming through the Drive Thru and making donations as well as swinging in and dropping off a donation.”

This isn’t the only time officers in Superior have shown their support for Special Olympics.

In June they participated in the torch run as the torch made its way through the town of Superior.

“Special Olympics is something that everybody can be involved in,” Lt. Kiel said. “And this is just one way that law enforcement in particular can give back, to help the Olympians.”
