2014 Murder of NDSU Student Remains a Mystery
Tom Bearsonwas found three days after he disappeared
The killing of a North Dakota State University student from central Minnesota remains a mystery two years later.
Sartell native, Tom Bearson, was 18 years old and a freshman nursing student. He disappeared after attending a party in Fargo on September 20, 2014.
Three days later, Bearson’s body was found in a commercial lot in Moorhead. An autopsy later revealed that he died from “homicidal violence.”
Moorhead Police Lt. Tory Jacobson told WJON-AM that Bearson’s death is not a cold case. Jacobson says investigators remain active on the case and it remains a top priority for police.
Bearson’s cellphone and one of his shoes were never found.
Authorities still have not identified a person of interest or a motive. A reward is available for anyone who helps solve the case.
