Enbridge Energy to Layoff 5% of Workforce
Approximately 50 people in the Twin Ports will be laid off
Enbridge confirmed today that company-wide layoffs will be taking place, including the Duluth and Superior region.
Approximately 50 people in the Twin Ports region will be laid off.
The following is a statement released today:
Yesterday was a difficult day for our employees. Our focus going forward is providing support to those who have left the company, as well as those who remain.
As part of an enterprise-wide organizational review, Enbridge took the difficult step today of reducing our workforce by approximately 5% of our workforce across the organization. Approximately 530 positions were impacted, including about 370 in Canada and about 160 in the U.S. Approximately 50 people in the Duluth/Superior region are impacted.
Enbridge launched the organizational review in the first quarter of 2016. It is focused on what we need to do to achieve our strategy of growth and diversification, enhance our competitiveness, and allow us to capitalize on opportunities now and into the future.
