Jury Indicts Thoresen and Greniger in Grand Rapids Beheading Case
Charges increase for the individuals involved in David Haiman's murder
Itasca County Attorney John J. Muhar reports on Thursday, October 20, 2016, an Itasca County Grand Jury indicted Joseph Christen Thoresen, 35, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and Kayleene Danielle Greniger, 22, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota on two counts of Murder in the First Degree and two counts of Murder in the Second Degree.
Thoresen was previously charged with one count of Murder in the Second Degree.
Greniger was previously charged with one count of Accomplice after the Fact to Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Assault in the Third Degree.
The indictments supersede the complaints. The indictments are based on allegations that Thoresen and Greniger assaulted David Haiman, 20 of Hibbing, Minnesota, at their apartment, kidnapped, and later assaulted Haiman with a baseball bat, knife, and machete, and caused the death of Haiman on June 21, 2016.
Thoresen’s next court appearance is set for October 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
Greniger’s next court appearance is set for October 21, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
