Ashland Woman Assaulted with Edged Weapon

Woman's neck was cut by her live-in boyfriend

On Monday, October 17, 2016, around 5:00 p.m., Ashland officers were dispatched to Memorial Medical center for an 18-year-old woman who had been assaulted with an edged weapon.

Upon arrival officers were told that the woman’s neck had been cut and required numerous stitches.

During thing course of the investigation, officers learned the assailant of the female was her live in boyfriend, a 23-year-old Ashland man. A search began for the man, who had left the scene.

A deputy located the subject’s vehicle at the Wildcat Bar near the town of Sanborn. The area was surrounded and the male was taken into custody without incident.

The 23-year-old male is being held at the Ashland County Jail with potential charges of Attempted Homicide, Endangering the Safety by use of a weapon, Substantial Battery, Strangulation, False Imprisonment, and bail jumping. Additional charges may be added as the investigation continues. He is being held on $25,000 cash bail.

The female was treated and released for her injuries.
