Thoresen and Greniger’s Bail Set in Grand Rapids Beheading
On October 20, 2016, both were indicted on first degree and second degree murder
On Friday, October 21, 2016, Joseph Christen Thoresen, 35, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and Kayleene Danielle Greniger, 22, of Grand Rapids, appeared in Itasca County District Court.
On October 20, 2016, an Itasca County Grand Jury indicted Thoresen and Greniger on two counts of Murder in the First Degree and two counts of Murder in the Second Degree.
Thoresen was previously charged with one count of Murder in the Second Degree. Greniger was previously charged with one count of Accomplice after the Fact to Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Assault in the Third Degree.
The indictments superseded the complaints.
At the hearing, Friday, the prosecutor requested and the court ordered Thoresen’s and Greniger’s bail set at $2,000,000 without conditions and $1,000,000 with conditions.
The court also ordered that a transcript of the grand jury proceeding be provided to the prosecutor and the attorney’s for Thoresen and Greniger, and ordered the attorneys to not share the transcript or allow anyone else to view it.
Thoresen’s and Greniger’s next court appearances are set for December 13, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.
