Duluth Police Stuck on the Roof of Dunkin Donuts
It's a Fundraiser For Special Olympics
Duluth police officers were stuck on the roof of Dunkin Donuts all morning – for a good cause.
“Cop on Top” is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics.
Duluth police officers encouraged donations from customers and people just passing by on Central Entrance.
The officers we spoke to all said that community service is a big part of their job.
“Just to see that support – it’s what police officers do,” said Officer Ryan Temple, an investigator with the Duluth Police Department. “It’s the good in the police officers. We like to get out into the public. It’s just a nice warm feeling for us.”
Officer Temple says he’s been happy to help out with the Special Olympics in the past, including the Polar Plunge that happens each February.
“It’s a great organization,” Temple said. “They help out people of all ages, different disability levels, it’s just a great organization to be a part of.”
The Duluth police say they didn’t have a fundraising goal, but they had already collected one thousand dollars at the time we spoke to them.
