Man Involved in Iron Range Cold Case Released from Jail
Bruce Cameron admitted to killing 83-year-old Leona Maslowski
St. Louis County authorities have confirmed that Bruce Cameron was released form St. Louis County Jail on Tuesday, October 26, 2016, after begin locked up for more than a year.
Recently, a judge tossed out the case against 45-year-old Cameron, after Cameron admitted to killing 83-year-old Leona Maslowski in 1987 when he was just 16 years old.
His attorneys had moved to suppress the confessions, believe that they were made involuntarily by Cameron.
Judge David Ackerson ruled in an agreement of the suspect’s attorney, which caused the release. Previous forensic tests had shown Cameron’s palm print and fingerprings were on the bedroom door near where the victim’s body had been found.
The investigation remains open, and an appeal is still possible in the case.
