Hoops Brewing Set to Open in Canal Park

Hoops Brewing Will Offer more than 30 Different Beers

A very well known brewer is now putting his own name on a brand new brew house that is set to be built in Canal Park.

For 25 years Dave Hoops has brewed beer. He started his career in San Fransisco but his passion for local breweries brought him to the Northland.

He is well known for his career at Fitgers but now he is opening Canal Parks very first destination brew hall, a large scale operation brewing upĀ  dozens of unique beers all at one time.

Hoops said, “My model is all about local, all about fresh, all about right here and the fact that I’ve been doing this for decades means I have an idea on how to brew beer.”

Hoops Brewing will have over 200 seats and 30 varieties of their own brews on tap at any given time. Hoops is excited to get started in a place he loves.

Hoops said, “I’m super lucky to be in Canal Park, it’s the jewel of Duluth. In the summer we have tourism and there are all of these activities down here. I’m ecstatic to be in Canal Park.”

The brew hall is set to open in Spring of 2017.
