Black Bear Wanders into Downtown Duluth
A black bear climbed its way up a tree in downtown Duluth and stayed there for a number of hours.
For a number of hours, a black bear found a resting place in downtown Duluth.
The bear climbed a tree between the St. Louis County Courthouse and the Radisson Hotel on the corner of 5th Avenue West and First Street.
The bear was spotted in the tree and stayed there from around 9 a.m. to mid afternoon.
“I was just driving by, saw a whole bunch of people standing around and decided to figure out what was up. Did you expect to find this? I did not expect to find a bear in the tree, absolutely did not expect to find a bear,” said Noah Valliant, who came to see the bear.
Duluth Police put up yellow tape around the area and wanted onlookers to stay away, so the bear could eventually come down.
A similar incident with a bear happened in 2015.
