Alborn Fire Blamed On Kids Playing With Fire
Authorities in Alborn believe children playing with fire are to blame for an out-of-control fire that destroyed three structures on a family’s property.
It happened around 4:20 p.m. Saturday on the 6900 block of Stoney Brook Road.
According to authorities, children were playing with fire in a hay shed. The hay quickly caught on fire and jumped to two other nearby structure – one of which had animals inside.
The owner of the property was able to release the animals before the fire took over.
The quick response is credited in part by the children who immediately alerted a parent who then called 911.
Nobody was hurt.
Fire departments from Alborn, Grand Lake, Solway, Meadowlands, Canosia and Northland Fire all responded.
